Lid Lesions
Eyelid bumps or growths—often called lid lesions—are common and usually harmless, but they can sometimes cause irritation, affect your appearance, or interfere with vision. At Rice Family Vision, Dr. Michael Rice provides evaluation and treatment for lid lesions to help you stay comfortable and confident.
Types of lid lesions may include:
-
Chalazion: a painless bump caused by a blocked oil gland
-
Stye (hordeolum): a red, tender bump near the edge of the eyelid
-
Skin tags or cysts: small growths that may be raised or fluid-filled
-
Other benign lesions that develop on or around the eyelid
While most lid lesions are not dangerous, it’s important to have them examined to rule out more serious concerns. If treatment is needed, Dr. Rice can often remove small lesions in-office with a simple procedure. For more complex cases, we coordinate care with trusted specialists to ensure the best outcome.
If you notice a new or changing bump on your eyelid, schedule an appointment with Rice Family Vision for a thorough evaluation and peace of mind.
